mix together, roll, press adults hand in first, then childs hand
Decorate the border to your taste
bake @ 100 degrees for 3 hours
Paint desired colors
Cover in a clear gloss to preserve the artwork

How to make homemade play dough!
I was inspired by Pinterest one day when I stumbled on a homemade play dough recipe. So, one Saturday morning I decided to try it out with my girls. It was just so simple!
We started with 2 cups of flour….
Then a cup of salt….
Then add about 1/2 cup or 3/4 cup of water…
Then you just mix it… Let them use their hands too in order to get the right consistency.
This is a great idea for an activity for a play date! They get to “cook” and then play with the dough after!
Amber and Ava played for a long time making different shapes! They played for 2 hours!
And even then, I was the one that had them stop playing because we had somewhere to go. They could have kept going!
Here are some of their creations!
Now, I also saw that if you baked this at 250 degrees for 2 hours you would create pottery that you could paint!
So, I didn’t have enough time to bake at 2 hours, but I did do a good hour and the smaller shapes did harden!
So, this whole thing can actually turn into a whole other activity! Bake the shapes when they are done playing with the dough
and then they can paint them later!
If you want to make it even more fun, add food coloring to change the colors… or, try kool aid for color and a yummy smell! You could even add sparkles! The options are just endless!
